Over-The-Top Swimming Pools

Posted on 22, July 2011 by csadmin

Well, it’s late July in Atlanta and the dog days of summer are upon us. These thermometer-breaking temperatures aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, so why not beat the heat with an over-the-top swimming pool? These four properties feature some of the most eye-popping pools we’ve ever seen. Let’s take a dip, shall we?

  • 6003 Overby Rd

    6003 Overby Road, Flowery Branch GA - 6 beds, 6 full, 2 ½ baths - $3.998M

This softly undulating pool beckons with its luminous (in the photo, at least) crystal turquoise water; the enclosed spa is merely a bonus. For those wanting to get a little closer to nature, this home boasts a double slip deepwater dock complete with a sundeck for sunbathing and rustic luxuriating. The house also has a steam room and sauna--most likely installed at the behest of a snowbird who has never experienced the “natural sauna” afforded by our Georgia summers. All things considered, this home has a pool at a price that won’t break the bank.

  • 20 Providence Wy

    20 Providence Way, Alpharetta GA - 7 beds, 8 full, 2 ½ baths - $4.9M

If you’re the type of person for whom the quality of the resort is just as important as the holiday destination itself, look no further than this 25+ acre chateau with an incredible resort-style pool. This free-form pool was constructed with Pebble Tec, and a bridge spans the center section, giving it the look and feel of the sort of natural water feature you’d find at a posh five-star hotel. But THIS waterscape just so happens to have some really awesome features built into it, like a tinkling waterfall, a spa, and even a cleverly concealed water slide! Oh yeah, and if you don’t care for swimming, there’s also a recording studio, a photo studio, and tennis courts to keep you occupied.

  • 450 Blackland Rd

    450 Blackland Road NW, Atlanta GA - 6 beds, 6 full, 2 ½ baths - $6.5M

If the kinds of gimmicky bells and whistles described above don’t appeal to your urbane aesthetic tastes, then have a gander at this sophisticated modern swimming hole tucked away in luxe Tuxedo Park. The pool’s infinity edge gives way to lush landscaping and a serene koi pond surroundings, giving swimmers the feeling of taking a refreshing dip in some idyllic forest glade. This is the sort of pool befitting of a garden party, wherein the lady of the house dons her bathing costume and splashes about regally in the water with her closest friends and bridge partners.

  • 4890 Serene Shores Dr

    4890 Serene Shores Drive, Gainesville GA - 6 beds, 8 full, 4 ½ baths - $10.5M

This gorgeous freeform pool really has the best of all worlds: built-in spa, concealed water slide, charming waterfall, and a diving board! The shape of the pool itself is comment-worthy, and it looks like you can swim up to a covered patio--perfect for those frozen daquiri-fueled summertime swim parties! If all this fun still isn’t enough to satisfy you, then why don’t you just go jump in a lake??...Lake Lanier, that is, which is right in your backyard, complete with a private dock topped with a deck for your partying pleasure. There is also an intriguing Romanesque covered spa tub in master bath. With all this water, water, everywhere, this home was clearly designed and/or built by a water sign. (I guess that’s why it appeals so much to this Scorpio.)
