2015 is turning out to be a great year for the Atlanta housing market as it has grown stronger each subsequent month and shows no signs of slowing down. June was not only Atlanta's best housing month thus far this year but also one of its best since 2011, according to the latest report from the Atlanta Board of Realtors.
Here are the three most positive trends right now in the Atlanta housing market, courtesy of Atlanta Agent Magazine:
- Super Positive Home Sales - Last month, residential sales for metro Atlanta rose 17.1 percent monthly and 9.5 percent yearly to 5,942.
- Housing Inventory Balancing - Although Atlanta's housing inventory has been historically low for some time, the latest numbers show this may change. In June there were 16,680 homes for sale which is a 4.1-months supply and a 3 percent increase year-over-year.
- Moderating Home Prices - Perhaps the most encouraging trend, home prices had a median sales price of $238,000 and saw a 3.9 increase from last year and a 0.8 percent decline from May.
