Atlanta Events- August & September 2017

Back to school doesn’t mean back to a boring routine. Atlanta has plenty of events in August and September to keep the summer fun going.

August 13: Matchbox Twenty & Counting Crows
These two bands will be playing at the Lakewood Amphitheatre at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $40 and still available so grab them while you can!

August 19- 20: Eighth Annual Piedmont Park Arts Festival
The Piedmont Park Summer Arts & Crafts Festival is a 2-day outdoor event with an emphasis on the visual arts and family fun. Come enjoy a day at the park Saturday August 19, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

August 27: Atlanta Cocktails War
Atlanta Cocktail Wars is a festival that celebrates the best craft cocktails Atlanta has to offer. Mixologists from local bars and restaurants will bring their best cocktails to the table for Atlantans to judge. Cocktail Wars will take place at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park. Tickets include:

• ​One Full-Sized Cocktail
• One Voting Ballot​

September 2-4: Art in the Park
Marietta Art in the Park features fine art, a chalk art competition, a free interactive children’s ‘make and take’ area, and a food truck row. Marrietta Art in the Park celebrates the arts by featuring both local and national artist displaying their fine arts on Labor Day weekend.

September 2-4: Labor Day at the Mountain
Stone Mountain park celebrates Labor Day for three nights with fireworks and a laser show. This event is free.

September 9: Lantern Parade
Art on the Atlanta BeltLine celebrates our exhibition with a captivating and energetic Lantern Parade. This event is free and goes from 660 Irwin Street to Piedmont Park.

September 16-17: Music Midtown
Music Midtown has a great lineup of bands including Bruno Mars, Blink-182, Wiz Khalifa, Mumford & Sons and more. The venue is located at Piedmont Park and has three stages, food, drinks and lots of entertainment.

September 23- Oct. 29: Six Flags Halloween
Enjoy pumpkin painting & trick-or-treating in daylight, but beware of scary ghosts, ghouls, and zombies at night during Fright Fest at Six Flags over Georgia.

September 30: Oktoberfest Atlanta
Oktoberfest Atlanta features beer, German food, live music, and games at Heritage Sandy Springs 1 p.m. -6 p.m.
