ATLiens Guide to Celebrating Fourth of July

Don’t have plans for the Fourth of July? New to the city? We’ve got you covered on the best Fourth of July celebrations going on around the city. Atlanta is a big city full of Independence Day spirit! Here is a guide to the best fireworks, parties, and parades Atlanta has to offer:

Fourth of July Celebration at Centennial Olympic Park
This year Lenox Square is partnering with Centennial Park for its 4th of July celebration. While Lenox will still host the ACJ Peachtree Road Race, there will be no fireworks at Lenox Square. J-Fly and other entertainment will perform. Fireworks begin around 9:45 p.m.
Gates open at 6 p.m. July 4 and admission is free.
Centennial Olympic Park, 265 Park Ave, West N.W., Atlanta.

Celebration at Stone Mountain Park
You won’t want to miss the firework and laser show that USA Today voted a “Must-See Firework Show.”
The Laser Show and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. and run July 1-4
Admission is free but $15 daily parking.

Fourth in the Park Celebration on Marietta Square
The city of Marietta's Fourth in the Park celebration begins Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.
Parade begins at 10 a.m. and admission is free.

Alpharetta Fireworks Show
The city of Alpharetta event will be hosted at Wills Park and culminates with its annual fireworks show at dusk. Musical entertainment will get the party started with Alpharetta City Band performing patriotic tunes and local act, T James Band, serving up its rendition of classic rock and new country favorites.
The event begins at 6 p.m. and admission is free.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution Peachtree Road Race
This is the 48th year of the famous 10k, drawing thousands of participants, volunteers and spectators to Atlanta. The course runs from Buckhead to Piedmont Park. Wheelchair racers start at 6:43 a.m. and the running racers start at 7:30 a.m. in waves of racers.

Sandy Springs Fireworks Celebration
Sandy Spring hosts its fifth annual Stars and Stripes Celebration fireworks event, Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Concourse lawn. Complimentary parking officially opens at 6:30 p.m. and will be available in Concourse Parking Decks five and six. Music from the band Shiloh begins at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.
Admission is free.

July 4th Rooftop Backyard BBQ at Ponce City Market
The Roof at Ponce City Market’s hosts a rooftop backyard BBQ event on Tuesday, July 4 From 5 to 11 p.m., guests are invited to break out their red, white and blue for an evening of barbecue, libations, live music, entertainment and panoramic fireworks view to celebrate Independence Day.
General admission to the roof will only be available day-of at the door for $25 for adults and $10 for children.
