While I’m a loyal customer of Starbucks, Caribou, and Dunkin' Donuts coffee, I’m also a big believer in the coffee shop experience. If you’re like me (an absolute coffee fanatic and occasionally referred to as a “coffee snob”), then this article is for you. Atlanta is no Seattle but it certainly holds its own with a great coffee scene. Here are some of the best coffee shops around Atlanta, each with their own special perks!
Dancing Goats Coffee Bar Midtown: Great Space
Located right outside Ponce City Market, near the Midtown MARTA station, this is the coffee shop for you if you are looking for a spacious environment or if you’re looking to grab a delicious cold brew before shopping around Ponce. The menu is pretty typical as far as coffee shops go, covering all the necessary caffeine bases. If you’re trying to get work done, don’t worry, there are not actually any dancing goats to distract you.
Land of A Thousand Hills at Atlantic Station: Great Cause
Newly located in Atlantic Station, this newest link in the chain of LOTH coffee shops has a space with a great industrial-feel. LOTH is unique in its mission. The coffee company is a “community that invests in coffee farming villages to provide living wages, education, healthcare, and clean water” in Africa. So with each cup of coffee or fancy iced latte that you buy, you are supporting the farming villages that LOTH supports. Say goodbye to feeling guilty about spending $5 on a latte!
The Mourning Dove Cafe at The Shops Buckhead Atlanta: Great Photo Op
This underrated coffee shop is your new go-to for a beautiful atmosphere that is surely Instagram-worthy. While the menu has been noted as “limited” under a couple reviews, if you are just looking for a typical cup of coffee and an atypically beautiful place to meet with a friend, this is it. Post pictures of yourself visiting The Mourning Dove on your Instagram and you’re sure to get tons of replies asking “Wait where is this?!”
Crazy Love Coffeehouse in Roswell: Great Food
Can I get a shout from the OTP people? This huge coffeehouse is located right near Historic Downtown Roswell and it has not only delicious coffee, but also delicious waffles and various other foods (but if you’re going for food, go for a waffle). They have various flavors of dessert waffles that you can enjoy either at their large community table or on their amazing porch swing. And if you make it over there before the summer is over, be sure to try their summer drink, the Lavender Chill, with a Maple Pecan Waffle. You can thank me later.
BRASH Coffee at Westside Provisions: Great Cup of Coffee
This tiny coffee shop tucked away in Westside Provisions is not exactly where you want to go to sit around and chat for hours, but it is a good place to stop in for a well-made cup of coffee, or an authentic cappuccino. BRASH prides itself on the care that goes into making each cup of coffee so if you are looking for a great pourover, you will want to stop at this tiny, industrial-looking shop. And if you’re serious about living your best life, maybe grab a high quality cup of BRASH coffee then walk over and pair it with some Jeni’s Ice Cream.
Chattahoochee Coffee Company at Akers Mill Rd: Great View
If it’s a beautiful Saturday morning and you have a good book in hand and you are looking for the perfect outdoor spot, this is it. With a great view of the Chattahoochee River, this coffee shop is sure to help you relax or to inspire you while working. And as if it couldn’t get any better: the lattes are also pretty amazing. So to recap: scenic view and a great latte. Sounds like I’m in.
