If you’re anything like me, you either sit in what feels like (or may actually be) hours of traffic every day or take a family road trip at least once a year to see the grandparents or venture to the beach. Instead of winding down after a day’s work with music or listening to the background of whatever your kids are watching on Netflix, take advantage of some free time, (instead of hating on the traffic that isn’t going anywhere), take the opportunity to learn, and subscribe to these podcasts that are perfect for your commute.
The Atlanta transit system could be taking a few unexpected turns. Between MARTA’s Connect 400 proposal and the new Atlanta Streetcar, Atlanta traffic could become a thing of the past.

Ariel Hart of the the AJC reports that despite opposition from many, the State Rail and Tollway Authority (SRTA) voted on Friday to extend the tolls on GA-400 through 2020. The toll was to expire in 2011 after the SRTA-issued bonds were fully paid off. Despite the broken promises, the toll will continue so that the revenue generated (expected to be $20.8 million in 2010) can fund other roadway projects including a completed interchange at GA-400 and I-85.
