With Atlanta’s outrageously hot summer afternoons, there is nothing better than a fresh scoop of Jeni’s Brambleberry Crisp or Mayfield’s Moose Tracks, especially after a walk through Piedmont Park or on the BeltLine. Now I present to you Atlanta's first craft ice cream! We are (literally) all screaming for ice cream over here!
Who: Keith Schroeder
Why: Why join an already pretty saturated market? Though you may see a gazillion different labels down the freezer aisle, before High Road Craft Ice Cream was established, there was one significant hole in the market for ice cream: restaurant, hotel, and event chefs were not able to cater to large parties with specific requests on their dessert menu. Keith Schroeder started the company with a chef to chef focus but as their fan base grew, High Road began selling their lines to grocery stores too.
How: High Road sets themselves apart from the typical ice cream brand by pasteurizing their own milk, using regional ingredients (everything from buttermilk to spices to fruits), and always being open to making new flavors after experiencing different cultures and tastes.
Where: You can find this pint of heaven at your local Whole Foods Market or Earth Fare. Your eyes may widen when you see the price at checkout, but I assure you, one bite is worth every single penny of that $10.
We've found your dream ice cream, now lets find your dream home! Start your search today.
