Marietta, a vast thriving community grounded by the Historic Marietta Square and rich in culture, is one of the most popular suburban areas of Atlanta. Home buyers are attracted to this area because of the great schools and the sense of community created by the centralized Marietta Square. Norm Kennedy, our Marietta neighborhood expert, highlights some of his personal favorites about his neighborhood below.
1 - Theaters. The Historic Marietta Square is home to not one but two theaters. The Earl Strand Theater offers a traditional stage performance for many types of shows and the infamous “Brew with a View”. The other is the Theater in the Square and is a great place to catch a play or holiday performance.
2 - Farmers Market and Art in the Park. Weekly and monthly events throughout the year gives you the opportunity to obtain farm fresh veggies, dairy, and meats and the chance to check out a variety of artists on display.
3 - Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield. Not exactly in the square but a stones throw away is the national battlefield, which offers a great history lesson and a great opportunity to explore the outdoors on one of the many trails.
4 - The restaurants, bars, and cafes. Marietta is the perfect place to satisfy my inner foodie! From the farm to table options of The Butcher, The Baker and Chicken and the Egg, to the casual Stockyard Burgers and Bones, you cannot go wrong with the dinning options throughout the square. It's always great to start your day off with a cup of java from Cool Beans Coffee
Roasters as well. I’ll see you there.
5 - Location. It’s no surprise that Atlanta has a little traffic. Marietta has many options for quick access to the expressways and into the city of Atlanta.
