If you are looking for a home for $200,000 or less in the Atlanta real estate market, you are in luck. There are 32,808 homes for sale in that price range---well over 60% of all Atlanta homes for sale. If you happen to be looking for a million dollar home though, then you are options are significantly reduced with only 2,273 homes that meet that criteria currently for sale.
Another interesting point to highlight is that at each one hundred thousand interval, the amount of listings spikes---especially at the higher price points. My guess is that with these more expensive homes, pricing becomes more subjective and with fewer listings available home pricing is more likely to congregate at the major intervals (25k, 50k, 75k, 100k). This also illustrates the number of real estate agents that price homes at prices like $199,900, $299,900, $399,900, etc. This pricing severely hampers their client's exposure to potential home buyers. I won't go into it again here, but check out my post that answers the question Is $100 Preventing Your Atlanta Home from Selling?
