The Fourth of July is quickly approaching. Make sure you are in the know of the right plans, otherwise the Fourth can be an absolute bust. So here are a few suggestions to ensure that you have a very exciting and patriotic Fourth!
The Fourth of July Luau at Ponce is probably for the greatest Fourth of July enthusiasts. For various prices (specified in the link above), you can attend various Fourth of July celebrations on the Rooftop of Ponce City Market. Each celebration is sure to include amazing fireworks, a great view of Atlanta, and barbecue! This is definitely one of the pricier Fourth of July celebrations, however, it is also definitely one of the trendier options and perfect if you are looking for a good date night option or a fun girls’ night out.
This spectacular fireworks show is perfect for the whole family and it is taking place from July 1-7. So if you have to attend your dad’s annual barbecue on the Fourth but still want to see a crazy fireworks display, you can see the Fantastic Fourth Celebration any night the week of that week, right after the laser show. The show is free, however, parking is $20. This event is great if you want to have a whole day of family fun as there are plenty of great attractions and activities around Stone Mountain (information on all activities can be found on the website linked above).
While this is definitely one of the higher priced activities for the Fourth of July, attendees will get their money’s worth. Tickets are $65 for general admission, $50 for members, and have to be purchased in advance on the website linked above. Tickets include unlimited drinks, barbecue dinner, and live music. The main event will take place in the Oceans Ballroom with views of beluga whales, manta rays, and whale sharks and then the entire party will move up to the top floor of the parking deck to watch the fireworks taking place in Downtown Atlanta. This event is only for guests who are 21 and over.
If you are planning to spend the Fourth of July with children, this is certainly the most family friendly option. There will be live music and children’s activities on the lawn with a fireworks show at dusk. Alcohol and tobacco are prohibited on the premises, which means this is either the exact environment you are looking for or the exact opposite. Entertainment will be taking place from 6:00-9:30 PM and food vendors will be open from 6:00-10:00 PM and it is a free event (unless you want food from the vendors, which requires cash).
This special community parade can be fun for any and everyone! Anyone can join the Decatur Pied Piper Parade on feet, skates, or bikes. The parade lines up at the First Baptist Church of Decatur at 5:30 p.m. and begins at 6:30 p.m. After, there is a concert on the Square at 7 p.m. and fireworks will begin around 9 p.m. So if you’re looking for some wholesome, festive fun, this annual Decatur parade is surely the place.
If you are dedicated to the Centennial Olympic Park fireworks show, it is important that you know the Georgia World Congress Center Authority has moved the Fourth of July extravaganza to the green space in between the Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and Phillips Arena. The gates open at 6 p.m., entertainment starts at 7 p.m., and fireworks are at 9:45 p.m. There are a lot of regulations as far as what guests are allowed to bring so be sure to check the link above for what you can and cannot bring with you to the celebration. Because this event is so centrally located in Atlanta, there are tons of great restaurants right around the green space if you want to grab a bite to eat before the show!
